We are a collective of programmers specialised in open source software, with extensive experience contributing to highly technical low-level projects used by millions. We are interested in working on software that contributes to the public good.

Our work

Our members co-maintain the following projects, among others:

We have also helped build some of the most widely-used projects in the FOSS ecosystem, having done significant work on projects such as:

Our members have developed production software for clients including BlackBerry, the University of Oxford the EPFL, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Status, the Swiss Post, Engie, the University of Copenhagen, GlaxoSmithKline, Kohl's and the Romanian government's open data branch.

Our values

Our work is guided not by profit, but by a desire to contribute to the public good. We have contributed to the public good in various ways, for example by helping create FOSS alternatives to non-FOSS software through our contributions to Hare and Sourcehut. In public health, our members have built research tools for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to help them improve healthcare outcomes in southern Africa and other countries. We want to continue working for the public good, and in doing so, we are guided by our values:

Social Responsibility

We only work on projects that we think will contribute to the public good. We reject projects that enrich us at the expense of our communities. We use our profits to fund socially responsible open source projects.

Craftsmanship

Our members tirelessly work to develop technical skills of the highest caliber, working alongside some of the world's most proficient programmers, in order to create uncommonly robust and performant software for our clients.

Honesty

We are always honest and transparent, because we want our interests, the interests of our clients, and the interests of the communities we are a part of to align.

Cooperative Work

We have no employees or sales departments. We are a team of members with equal authority, contributing according to our respective abilities. Our customers communicate directly with those doing the work.
